University secures students
Cardiff enjoys integrated CCTV thanks to CDS design and install.
Providing a safe environment in which students can live and study is a major priority for the management of Cardiff University, one of the UK’s leading education establishments. The university appointed CDS to design a complex integrated £350,000 security solution which would make the education campuses and residential areas safely accessible to its many thousands of students.
At the client’s request, CDS integrated various systems (analogue CCTV technologies, a networked digital video recording system and a networked, multi-site access control system for extra security) into one unifying platform, to allow for more simple management of the system and savings on control room and monitoring costs.
The system is designed to protect not only the welfare of thousands of students and staff, but also the high capital value of the many pieces of unique equipment the university houses. CDS continues to provide service to the system to ensure uninterrupted operation.
