Water safety first..
Treatment plant gets water-tight security.
Severn Trent Water has appointed CDS Systems to apply its experience to a £275,000 security project, creating high-specification systems for one of its key treatment plants.
Over 140,000 households rely on the water supply from Severn Trent Water’s Mythe Water Treatment works, so the site is one of high importance in terms of national security.
Comprehensive high security access control and intruder detection devices were installed by CDS to monitor people entering and moving around the site, as well as to guard the perimeter fencing of the facility, providing maximum protection against security breaches. An off-site security control room was built to provide remote monitoring of multiple sites through the integrated analogue and digital CCTV system CDS installed.
CDS provides Severn Trent Water with ongoing preventative and corrective maintenance for the system under a comprehensive service level agreement, to ensure this high-security site is safely monitored at all times.
