CDS supports spirited student on African adventure in aid of The Meningitis Research Foundation

University of South Wales student Hannah Spacey recently raised over £2,000 in aid of The Meningitis Research Foundation, climbing Africa’s highest peak Mount Kilimanjaro.

Hannah’s journey began after arriving in Arusha, Tanzania on the 9th September 2013. From here she began her four day climb to base camp – tackling obstacles such as the Shira Plateau and Karanga Valley as well as extreme weather conditions and the danger of developing altitude sickness.

Upon reaching the Borafu base camp, Hannah faced an eight hour climb through nighttime temperatures of -20C before triumphantly reaching the summit at 9:13am the following morning. Of the total amount raised by Hannah, £500 was donated by CDS which acted as a corporate sponsor.

CDS was delighted at the opportunity to help and was more than happy to support this momentous undertaking on behalf of such a worthy cause.
