Perimeter Intruder
Detection Systems (PIDS)
Perimeter Intruder Detection Systems (PIDS) are integrated systems designed to raise an alarm or initiate CCTV recording upon an intruder entering a restricted area.
Cameras can be linked to sensors on perimeter fencing to protect property and high security installations. Once an alarm is raised by the sensor the camera will automatically move and record activity in a certain area, being determined by which sensor the alarm has come from. We are also able to provide CCTV, access control and digital recording to complement this service.
PIDS are popular set-ups in areas of national security, such as government facilities or secure utilities sites such as waterworks. In these instances, the system can raise an alarm, alert control room staff or even directly contact police or security forces.
There are other uses, however, such as linking to access control systems in hospitals, or safeguarding education facilities. The key to a successful PIDS is system integration – CDS’ area of expertise.
